Balance & Beyond

What does “balance” mean to you, and how do you go about creating it in your everyday life?  There are a variety of life circumstances, single, married, kids, no kids, blended family, dependent parents, no family within miles, etc.  Defining balance for yourself is the key to being able to obtain it.  Learn how to define and identify what balance is for you and create a plan to getting to the “beyond.”

What is beyond?  Beyond is the part of life we keep thinking we can get to, if we just had more time, or “when things settle down a bit.”  This workshop is the main reason Balance and Beyond was conceived.  Come join us for an eye-opening, humorous and informative seminar.

Cathartic Breathing

Cathartic Breathing (Breathwork), is a powerful deep-breathing process which enables you to relieve stress by releasing stored emotions. It helps relieve both physical and emotional issues. The process involves the breather lying down with their eyes closed and breathing in a particular rhythmic pattern. During this time you are awake, yet in a state of consciousness that enables you to recognize old images and feelings. You then process these images and feelings following the breathing process. Cathartic Breathing is ideal for both children and adults. Once you try it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.

Making It Fun To Stay Fit

More children in our country are overweight or obese than ever before.  We, as a country, need to address this epidemic and reverse this trend.  Who better to do that than physical education teachers?  And what better way to do this than to show these young people how much fun staying fit can be?  In this workshop, participants will get hands on experience with the same old games that kids have been playing for years, but with a new twist.  We will show you how much fun these games can truly be, so bring your sneakers!   We will briefly discuss what a high quality physical education program looks like.  We will also look at your particular program.  We can help you objectively evaluate it and assist you in making any changes, if necessary.  Come and be prepared to look at physical education in a completely new way.

This workshop was designed specifically for Physical Education teachers.

This is typically a 3-4 hour presentation.

Move To Learn: Teaching Academics Kinesthetically

In this highly interactive workshop, we will show you how easy it is to incorporate movement into your current curriculum.  Why is this so important?  Research, theory, and classroom studies support sustaining or increasing the role of movement in learning.  Movement has strong positive cognitive, emotional, social, collaborative, and neurological effects on children.  School is far too sedentary.  Every classroom subject from language arts to math can and should have movement included in the curriculum.  Simply put, kids learn and retain more information when movement is incorporated into their academic day.  We will demonstrate several kinesthetic games that are fun for students, simple, and inexpensive to make.

This is typically a 4-5 hour presentation.

All attendees in our 5 hour presentation will have the opportunity to experience more games, and make at least one game that they can use with their students.
